Skin infections, infestations and insect bites may be occupational in origin:

• bacteria (eg impetigo);
• viruses (eg orf);
• fungi (eg tinea pedis in miners);
• yeasts (eg candidal paronychia in wet workers);
• arthropods (eg 'grain itch' from mites);
• Protozoa (eg Leishmaniasis).
