Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the most common occupational illness in Great Britain, MSDs include lower back pain, joint injuries and repetitive strain injuries. More than 20% of injuries in tree work are MSD-related. The resulting cost of absence can be serious for any tree work business.

Early symptoms of MSDs include:

  • Poor posture
  • Muscular tightness
  • Joint stiffness
  • Restricted range of movement
  • Persistent pain and twinges
