2. What you must do as a worker
You must:
- work in a way that does not cause risk to yourself or anyone else, for example other workers or people that might come into contact with the work you do. If something is not safe, never take a chance
- use work equipment in the way you were trained to use it. You should not use machinery if you haven’t been shown how to use it safely. If you didn’t get training or don’t remember parts of it, ask to be shown before you use it
- follow the instructions for using anything supplied for your health and safety, for example a face mask, protective equipment or reflective clothing
- help your employer to reduce health and safety risks in the workplace by telling them if you see a risk, or telling a fellow worker if you see them work in a way that could harm themselves or others
