The Slips Assessment Tool (SAT) has been produced as a result of a research project commissioned by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Whilst HSE has endeavoured to ensure that the results given by the system have been checked for accuracy with regard to a number of scenarios, no guarantee of accuracy is given. Nor does HSE (or any other organisation associated with it) in production or marketing of the system give or assume warranty or condition, express or implied, statutory or otherwise, as to condition, quality, performance, merchantability or fitness for the purpose of the system and all such warranties and conditions are hereby excluded save to the extent that such exclusion is absolutely prohibited by law.

The program must not be used as the basis for floor surface specification or modification, but rather as a simple aid to determining slip risk.
