RR245 - Stress redistribution in platform substructures due to primary member damage and its effect on structural reliability
An investigation has been conducted to establish the damage tolerance of five different bracing configurations that have been applied to a generic jacket structure. The investigations have provided an insight into how the different bracing configurations are able to accommodate a fully severed member and the impact that this has on the load distribution, ultimate strength and ultimately the predicted structural reliability. In performing this study a total of 406 FE analyses have been carried out.
