There is no excuse for running vehicles in deep mud. This not only makes them inefficient it also is the cause of many related injuries, ranging from slipping and falling to being trapped under the skip while trying to clean the running gear and check the brakes. All roads should be adequately surfaced and drained to ensure vehicles can be used safely. If necessary materials may need to be imported to the site.
Roads should also be kept free of dust by regularly wetting. This is important for the operatives as well as the environment.
