This document sets out what should be covered by container examination schemes or programmes as included in the new Freight Containers (Safety Convention) Regulations 2017 with effect from 6 April 2017.

The Green Guide takes account of the amendments made by the International Maritime Organisation to the International Convention for Safe Containers 1972 which are reflected in the new Regulations. In particular, new requirements for periodic audits and an evaluation of approved programmes.
