If you export or import GB PIC-listed chemicals, you must report quantities from the previous calendar year to the Designated National Authority (DNA) by 31 March each year.
This page also includes details of previous annual report results.
Annual reporting of exports and imports
Annual reporting of quantities is required under Article 10 of the GB PIC Regulation. You must provide details of both exports from and imports into Great Britain. This includes movement of PIC chemicals to and from Northern Ireland, and provide the exact quantities in kilograms (kg).
For European Union (EU) exports and imports you do not need to indicate the specific EU country. However, you should indicate where the movement of the chemical was to, or from, Northern Ireland.
For mixtures and articles, report only the quantity of PIC chemical within the mixture or article.
Reporting exclusions
The following are exempt from the reporting requirement and should not be included:
- special reference identification number (Special RIN) requests for exports in quantities not exceeding 10kg per year to each importing country for the purpose of research or analysis
- imports for research and analysis in quantities not exceeding 10kg per year from any country
Find out more on Special RIN: chemicals for research or analysis.
How to report
You must complete the appropriate export or import template and email it to [email protected]. You must also include the following details in the subject line of your email: GB PIC - Annual Reporting - Article 10 - year - company name.
If you did not export a particular PIC listed chemical for which you submitted an export notification during the previous calendar year, please respond to confirm this as a NIL return.
Annual report results
Under the GB PIC Regulation, HSE as the Designated National Authority must publish non-confidential information submitted by companies on the PIC listed chemicals they have exported from or imported into Great Britain during the previous calendar year.
The reports show the chemicals and quantities exported or imported, on their own or in mixtures or articles, and the countries they were exported to or imported from.
The reports for 2020 list UK exports and imports of PIC listed chemicals under the EU PIC Regulation. For 2021 onwards, the reports are for exports and imports from Great Britain under the GB PIC Regulation.
