Introduction
This page will help you to assess a single person lifting operation and includes two videos of a manual handling task.
- Before you begin watching the videos we advise you to print the MAC tool charts leaflet[1] and read through the assessment guide.
- The flow chart, graph and score sheet in the MAC are required to assess and evaluate the risks in the video.

This video shows footage of an employee lifting creels of wire from a rolling conveyor and loading them onto spindles at various heights.

The videos repeat 3 times. The videos can be replayed, and paused at any time. Before you start your assessment it is advisable to watch each video for a few minutes. This enables you to view the entire operation and consider the 'worst case scenario'. The video clip should not take more than a few minutes to load.
