Legislation

The Mines Regulations 2014 came into force on 6 April 2015 and replace all previous mine specific health and safety legislation. The Regulations complement the considerable amount of general health and safety legislation that applies to those people in Britain who work in the mining industry.

The Mines Regulations 2014 make specific reference to other health and safety regulations which apply to mining operations.
