LPG consultation

A public inquiry conducted by Lord Gill was held into the ICL Plastics Ltd explosion in 2008. The Inquiry report was published in July 2009 and included proposals for a new safety regime for the use of LPG in industrial and commercial premises, though some of the recommendations would apply more widely. For more information on the ICL inquiry report, please visit The ICL inquiry website.

HSE sought the views of stakeholders on the proposed regime and the wider recommendations via a public consultation.

The consultation closed on 19 November 2009. A summary of the results can be found as an annex to HSE Board Paper MISC/10/05 (PDF) [1].
