RR186 - Field studies of the effectiveness of concrete repairs
Phase 4 Report: Analysis of the effectiveness of concrete repairs and project findings
Presents the findings of Phase 4 of the project Field Studies of the Effectiveness of Concrete Repairs. Site investigation of repairs demonstrated that the majority of repairs were related to corrosion of steel reinforcement. Repairs using proprietary repair materials and systems with ages of the order of 10 years, had largely been effective. Ineffective repairs occurred primarily where the original cause(s) of deterioration had not been treated, particularly the continued exposure to water, often containing salt.
