RR100 - Perceptions of and trust in the Health and Safety Executive as a risk regulator
The research programme summarised here sought to establish insight into the trust profile of the Health and Safety Executive as a risk regulator, by directly engaging with and eliciting the views of a representative sample of the general public.
In view of the exploratory nature of this work a combined methods approach was adopted. In the first instance open-ended elicitation techniques were applied. Insights derived from this initial phase formed the basis of a broader quantitative survey designed to validate the qualitative findings on a larger, stratified, sample of respondents. The purpose of the survey was to benchmark a range of salient aspects of HSE's trust profile.
