This document is primarily for employers but will also be useful to employees, their safety representatives, and health and safety professionals. It gives advice and guidance on how to protect employees from the risk of ill health caused by rosin (colophony)-based solder flux fume at work.
The guidance will help employers to understand how to comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH). It explains what the law requires from employers, and describes different types of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).
This online document has been revised and updated since the previous edition in 1997. New imagery and clearer presentation make the online documents easier to understand.
Further information including imagery is provided on the various types of LEV available to assist those engaged in purchasing and maintaining effective LEV equipment.
