Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000

This leaflet is for owners and users of pressure systems. Under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, you are required to demonstrate that you know the safe operating limits of your pressure systems, and that the systems are safe under those conditions.

You need to ensure that a suitable written scheme of examination is in place before the system is operated. You also need to ensure that the pressure system is actually examined in accordance with the written scheme of examination.

This leaflet gives guidance on the scheme. It has been updated to make the advice clearer for employers and users (though the guidance remains broadly the same), and it complements the leaflet Pressure systems: A brief guide to safety
