Guidance designed to protect people at work and others who may be affected by such work activity and to reduce the injuries and damage caused by associated fire and explosions. Of instructive relevance to managers, safety specialists, manufacturers, suppliers and installers of equipment and any other parties with duties concerned with selecting, using and maintaining equipment.

The publication has a four-fold intention to: increase awareness of the potential hazards and the precautions to be taken when using compressed gases; give guidance on appropriate British, European and international standards for equipment; advise on safe operations; and advise on the need for training, personal protective equipment, fire precautions, and the maintenance, examination and testing of equipment.
