This guidance is for female employees who may be exposed to ionising radiation during their work. It is specifically aimed at those women who are thinking of having a baby or are already pregnant or breastfeeding.

The guidance explains:

  • what your employer should already be doing to comply with the Ionising Radiations Regulations1999
  •  the additional requirements during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  •  the importance of letting your employer know as soon as you are aware that you are pregnant

This edition updates references to further reading and gives a clearer explanation of what action you and your employer should take and why.
