HSE has guidance on controlling the health risks associated with working with UV tanning equipment [168KB]
, for example sunlamps, sunbeds and tanning booths). Exposure to UV radiation can lead to a number of short- and long-term ill health effects, and the guidance gives advice on how to minimise the risks.
The guidance is now ten years old and HSE is currently consulting on a revised version. There is a note explaining the consultation exercise , which contains background information, highlights the changes made to the guidance, gives a timetable for responses and contact details. The revised guidance can be downloaded as a pdf below . The consultation exercise started on 24 April 2008 and ran for 12 weeks.
