For general enquiries on health and safety in printing your first contact should be to HSE's national helpline Infoline. For local site-specific issues you can contact your local HSE Office and ask to speak to an inspector.

HSE's Operational Inspectors

HSE's Operational Inspectors deal with the Printing Industry on a day to day basis. They do this by:

• Carrying out inspections.
• Investigating accidents and complaints.
• Providing advice at visits, by phone, or by letter.
• Taking formal enforcement action where necessary.

HSE's Manufacturing Sector (Printing Group)

HSE's Manufacturing Sector (Printing Group) deals with the Printing
Industry at a national level. It does this by:

• Gathering intelligence about new printing technology
• Monitoring national health and safety performance
• Agreeing printing industry standards
• Publishing industry specific guidance and good practice.
• Working with printing industry stakeholders via the Printing Industry Advisory Committee (PIAC). (For further information see Live Issues.)
