Free Leaflets
To get you started on understanding the detail of CHIP HSE publishes some
free leaflets on CHIP and chemicals.
We suggest you first read the Idiot's Guide to orientate yourself and then
identify which additional documents you need.
Approved documents
The Regulations refer to and depend on the following two approved documents
which contain essential technical information:
- The
Approved Supply List (Seventh edition) L129 HSE Books 2002 ISBN 0 7176 2368 8 gives classification and labelling information for several
thousand commonly supplied chemicals.
- The
Approved Classification and Labelling Guide (Fifth edition)
L131 HSE Books 2002 ISBN 0 7176 2369 6 gives information on how to classify
and label chemicals not listed in the ASL. This is the UK version of Annex 5.
